For the past 30 years extensive research has been conducted on the retention and attrition of college students. This qualitative study focused on American Indian completers and non-completers in a tribal college. By use of a series of individual interviews and focus groups, participants told stories about experiences as they related to the societal, program, organizational, and individual factors that lead to their completion and non-completion.
