Cheryl Crazy Bull (Sicangu Lakota), president and CEO of the American Indian College Fund, will be the featured guest on a six-day rafting retreat through the canyon country of southeastern Utah. The event will take place September 20-27, 2015, along the Green River, beginning and ending in Moab, Utah.
Joining Crazy Bull will be author Page Lambert and a group of all-women guides who will lead the expedition. Entitled, “On the River of Discovery with Women of Influence,” Lambert says that the retreat “is for women entering the crossroads of their lives—professionally, artistically, personally—the perfect time and place to inspire creative change.” Oprah Winfrey’s O magazine has described the event as “one of the top six great all-girl getaways of the year.” Over the years, the event has featured an array of influential Native artists, leaders, and thinkers, including poet Joy Harjo (Mvskoke Nation) who headed the retreat in 2013.
The event is open to all women. More information can be obtained at: http://www.pagelambert.com/river2015.html.
