Hailing from the Crow Indian Reservation in central Montana and an early graduate of the Institute of American Indian Arts, Kevin Red Star has helped shape modern American Indian art. What follows is a sampling of Red Star’s body of work. A more detailed survey and in-depth discussion of the artist’s methods, influences, and background can be found in the recently published large format book, Kevin Red Star: Crow Indian Artist by Daniel Gibson with photos by Kitty Leaken.
