Idina Menzel won the Tony award for her role in the Broadway musical Wicked.

The American Indian College Fund has signed the Tony Award-winning Broadway vocalist, Idina Menzel, to perform live at its 25th anniversary gala. The event will be held Monday, October 20, at Pier Sixty in New York City. Menzel has long been a presence on Broadway, receiving several Tony nominations for roles in such musicals as Rent, Wicked, and If/Then. In 2013, she sang the Academy Award-winning song, “Let It Go,” for the Disney movie Frozen.

Besides Menzel, Emmy-award winning television journalist David Ushery will serve as emcee for the event. Usherly co-anchors the weekend editions of NBC 4’s “News 4 New York” and is the creator and host of Emmy Award-nominated “The Debrief with David Ushery.”

The black tie fundraising gala will benefit American Indian higher education and celebrate the College Fund’s 25 years of working to expand Native people’s access to higher education. A silent auction featuring unique items, including Native art will also be held at this historic gala. Individual tickets, tables, and sponsorships are available for purchase now.
