FLOODED. NTU students, faculty, and staff evacuated campus to seek higher ground. Although many motorists have been stranded, no injuries have been reported.

Navajo Technical University (NTU, Crownpoint, NM) has called for an evacuation of its Crownpoint campus after heavy rains flooded many of the university’s facilities. The torrential rains have flushed out many of the roads leading to the university. The Crownpoint Fire Department and the Navajo Nation Police have responded to the flooding and shut down local roadways, while also assisting drivers who have been stranded.

Students in the family housing units are currently being being relocated. There have been no injuries reported and the university is expecting classes to resume on Monday.
