Blackfeet Indian College hosted a traditional encampment this summer that featured demonstrations of Indian crafts and seminars on Blackfeet heritage.

Now in its second year, the event—held in the Rocky Mountains—drew about 500 people.

The two-week event was meant to help perpetuate Blackfeet culture, an important goal of the college according to President Gordon Belcourt.

“We’re trying to provide a vehicle to the understanding of our traditions that is accessible to everybody—Indians and non-Indians alike,” he says.
