Last spring the Salish Kootenai College Dental Assisting students attended the Montana Dental Assistants Association (MDAA) annual conference and the Montana Dental Association’s (MDA) on May 7. The MDAA elected Angie Klevenberg, advanced student, as the student representative on the executive board. This is the third year in a row that an SKC student has been awarded this honor. Klevenberg will attend all board meetings, representing the dental assisting students’ concerns.

The students return from these conferences with a lot of ideas and a renewed interest in their profession. The Dental Assisting Technology Program at SKC is flexibly designed so that students may enter at any quarter of the year, even summer. The program has an agreement with Kicking Horse Job Corps to provide education and training scholarships for eligible candidates. The program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association.
