Spirit Nation, 1998. V2 Records

Review by Tom Eggers, Turtle Mountain Community College Librarian

The musical expression presented in Spirit Nation is one of the finer efforts by a group that works within the Native American ambient genre. Some of the songs evoke a timeless and traditional effect, using vocalization, percussion, and fluid melodies, which can range from the spiritual to club dance music. It does at times tend to slow down too much, but overall it makes an impressive rebound as a successful musical experience.
