‘Grandmother to hundreds’ still at work teaching traditional ways

Agnes “Oshanee” Kenmille says she seeks out young people because they make her smile. But she’s also worried about their future if it doesn’t include learning traditional ways. “I have a lot of young friends,” the Salish elder says. “Lots of young friends. The others, the older ones, always ask me why. I say it’s because the young ones laugh a lot. They have humor.” TCJ PAID CONTENT
